Cruise Itinerary

Welcome to the city of Dubrovnik, on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, where we’ll meet and transfer you to your ship. There’s time to settle in before dinner on board this evening. Stay: Nine Nights, MS Caledonian Sky

Head up on deck early, as your ship carves through Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor. Wrapped in medieval stone walls, the city of Kotor’s setting is as striking as its storied interior. As your ship docks in this World Heritage-listed site, it’s time to leaf through this living history book. The Cathedral of St Tryphon, the Maritime Museum and town gates, as well as Romanesque churches are just some of the discoveries on a guided wander through the town. After lunch back aboard, perhaps scale the heights of the Castle of San Giovanni for bay views or enjoy the afternoon as you like.

On Albania’s Dalmatian Coast, disembark in the seaside town of Durrës and set out to discover the nation’s capital Tirana. Enjoy a city tour including a visit to the House of Leaves Museum. Located in the former headquarters of the Sigurimi, the Albanian secret service. The museum provides a fascinating showcase, from documents to surveillance equipment used by the Hoxha regime. Back on board for lunch, your ship gets underway for Corfu.

SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE Enjoy dinner at Ambelonas Farm, whose history dates back to the 1600s. You’ll also meet the estate’s owner, for an insight into the farm’s vineyard. Enjoy a leisurely morning aboard. After lunch, travel to Gastouri to visit the Achilleion Palace. Here, admire statues of the nine Greek muses, explore the palace and take in views of the Ionian Sea. Round off the day with a Signature Experience.

One of the smallest of the Ionian isles, Ithaca remains wonderfully unspoilt, despite being home to the legendary Greek hero Odysseus. Today, this renowned setting for Homer’s epic poem, The Odyssey, is no less captivating. Lush pine and cypress forests carpet hills and cascade down to clear blue seas. This afternoon, explore the idyllic port of Vathy.

Cruise to Katakolon, to see the site of Ancient Olympia, a venue for the original Olympics. Once upon a time, it was a small regional festival in the 11th century, dedicated to the god Zeus. At the primary site, you’ll see the main temple devoted to the god, featuring a statue made of ivory and gold. A local guide will show you the gymnasium, where athletes trained, and the main stadium where the games were held. Later, visit a local farm for lunch and a wine tasting straight from oak barrels produced on the estate. There’s time to stroll here too.

SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE Return to your ship in time to capture a majestic sunset as you cruise through the Corinth Canal. FREEDOM OF CHOICE™ - Sightseeing Perhaps visit Delphi, one of Greece’s most significant sites of antiquity, at the foot of Mt Parnassus. Hillside ruins depict the Pan-Hellenic sanctuary of Apollo, a sacred site including the Temple of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians and the ancient Greek theatre. Or, visit the seaside village of Galaxidi. A guided stroll, takes you to landmarks including Agios Nikolaos church, overlooking the Adriatic. From the Greek port of Itea, set out on your chosen activity. Later, a special Signature Experience awaits.

Today, set your sights on the sleepy isle of Hydra, in the Saronic Gulf. After breakfast enjoy a gentle morning wandering the cobbled laneways and lemon-scented squares of Hydra’s horseshoe-shaped harbour. Meander back to your ship for lunch before cruising to the beautiful seaport of Nafplion in the Peloponnese archipelago. An overnight stay has been set aside for you here, for an evening walking tour around this enchanting city.

FREEDOM OF CHOICE™ - Sightseeing If you’d like to see more of Nafplion, join a guided wander through the city’s medieval Old Town. Explore the maze of narrow streets, brimming with flower boxes and framed with Venetian and neoclassical architecture. Alternatively, discover the secrets of one of Greece’s most iconic products, honey. Join a beekeeper at a local apiary, to learn about bees in their natural environment, and enjoy a Greek honey-tasting. Or explore Nafplion from the water on a sea-kayaking tour. Cut through the port’s deep-blue water on a sea kayak and admire the idyllic coastline and local fortresses that line its shores. After breakfast, head off on your chosen sightseeing activity.

Disembark your ship for the final time and we’ll transfer you to your hotel. Tonight, you’ll be treated to an authentic dining experience. Stay: Two Nights, InterContinental Athenaeum Athens or similar

FREEDOM OF CHOICE™ - Sightseeing View the Corinth Canal from above, or learn the secrets of Greek cuisine during an engaging and tasty cooking class. Today, discover Athens’ legacy of Greek antiquity with a guide on a sightseeing tour. You’ll visit the Acropolis of Athens, an ancient citadel overlooking the Greek capital, which houses some of the world’s most enduring symbols of civilisation and the achievements of human spirit. Enjoy lunch at leisure, before selecting a sightseeing experience.

After breakfast we’ll transfer you to Athens Airport for your onward flight.

The ‘Club’ has wonderful views with ceiling to floor windows. If you like the MS Island Sky, we are sure you will also approve of her sister. And, of course it is important that we offer the very best of facilities. However, equally as important are the staff on board whether they are the vessel’s crew or our own expedition staff. Noble Caledonia’s reputation has been built on providing the very best in all areas. Their crew of 74 not only offer an excellent service they are also noted for their kindness and attention to detail.
